Hi,
We have self-hosted Confluence v5.9.4 running on SQL2014 server.
We want to move the datase from SQL Server A to SQL Server B (both are running MS SQL2014).
I found this post from 2012 but I'm not sure if it's still valid 7 years later:

If not, is there any official documentation how to do this?
Thanks in advance :)
MJ
We just migrated and those steps are correct. The file on Confluence that you will edit will be confluence.cfg.xml. Change the database settings to match the new database server and you are good to go.
It also a good to check and make sure that the DB is configured correctly after the restore. (It should be but good to double check) https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/database-setup-for-sql-server-9258.html
