Moving a licence

Hi,

 

A client currently has a starter license for confluence that expired a while back (over a year). If they want to move to a new version I assume they need a new license key? Also what's the minimal licence needed to get online support (as opposed to using forums?)

Thank you for reaching out to Community Support!

If your user wants to install the latest version of Confluence then they will indeed need to order a new license.

For Confluence anything outside of a Starter License would entitle you to Select Support or higher. For more details you can have a look at Atlassian Support Offerings

However, please be aware that Community Support is also an Atlassian-run support offering. We have our own support team that works solely on the Community. In our current team, we are all either former Community Champions, or previously worked in the support portal as Support Engineers for many years. In addition to that, you get the support of many other Atlassian Partners, Community Champions, or Atlassian users just like you who have been already working with our products for a long time.
