i'm attempting to move one confluence space to a different one and i'm getting this error "Move failed. There was a problem contacting the server."

Mario,

Within Confluence, it's not possible to move spaces from one to another. Rather, you can export the Confluence space and re-import it in another Confluence instance, or after modifying the XML you can import it into the same instance.

Could you tell us exactly which steps you were taking when you ran into the error? If moving across Confluence instances, we'll also need to know the versions of each.

If you are the server admin, could you check your Confluence Server Logs and let me know what error message is occurring? If not, please get in touch with your server admin as we need that information to proceed.

thanks, yes i was trying to move one space to another, didnt know you cant do that.

I edited and then just copied and pasted to the new space instead.

Here's another option for you for the future:

This way you can re-import a space backup but give it a different name in the XML file, creating a duplicate space.
