×Hello everyone,
We've been using confluence in our company for a few months now and are very happy about it. We're currently reorganizing our IP address plan and that means we will have to change the IP address of the server hosting the confluence database....
I looked through the Confluence Knowledge base and found about the procedure to migrate Confluence from one database to another bur our case is a bit different. The database doesn't need to be migrated, only the IP address is going to change.
My question is, is it possible to tell Confluence that the IP address of the database has changed without completely reinstalling it as we are not migrating the dabatase ?
Thanks !
Florian
You just need to change the connection settings (and you may not have to even do that depending on your network).
There's a file in <confluence home> called something like confluence.cfg.xml - this holds (amongst other things) the database settings, which will include the host address which might be an ip address or a host name. Update that field with the new name or ip address and restart Confluence.
Great !
Thanks a lot for your answer.
