Migration from Confluence server to data-center

Hi team,

We recently purchase confluence datacenter license keys.

So the agenda is, we just want to update the confluence server license with datacenter license keys. we don't want to change any architecture like adding one more node or creating a cluster.

it would be great if someone shares me steps.

Regards,

Pooja

New versions of Confluence (7.2+) will become Datacenter (as you've discovered yourself) by just applying the DC licenses and stay this way after restart too.

This wasn't the case for 7.1 and earlier. See here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/revert-to-standalone-instance-from-accidental-confluence-data-center-migration-968667261.html

"In Confluence Server 7.1 and earlier, moving to Confluence Data Center requires you to set up and configure a cluster.

When you apply a Data Center license, we prompt you to start the migration the next time you restart Confluence. At this point, Confluence won't be accessible to your users until you’ve successfully configured your cluster."

Hi repi,

Thanks for reply. As per this articles , by referring below lines I just upgraded the license keys.

There's no need to restart Confluence. Data Center features such as read-only mode, SAML single sign-on, and CDN will now be available

But for scheduled restart of vm or for any of the reasons if we restart the confluence it will ask for clustering. It happened to me with one of the clients.

Any other ways we can change just the license keys?

Regards,

Pooja

Have not yet set up a confluence data center version. But as I read the instructions, you can set up a cluster, but you don't have to set it up.
