Migrate users from Confluence to JIRA

Thomas Egger

Hello guys,

after several years of using Confluence we now set up a fresh JIRA installation. I already have linked both so that the groups from JIRA appeared in Confluence. My problem now is that the users and groups from Confluence do not appear in JIRA.

The situation I want in the end is the following:

  • All users of Confluence can still login with the same password on both systems.
  • Confluence's user management is turned off.
  • If possible, the users and groups should be transfered automatically.
  • The content of Confluence is still linked to the right profile.

Is there a solution for that, which I was'nt able to find?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Thomas,

This might help you out: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF34/Migrating+users+from+Confluence+to+JIRA

But your users will need to reset their password.

Best regards,

Peter

Hello Peter,

thanks for your answer. I did not try your solution because there were not that much users. I created them by hand. It is good that the system assigns old Confluence content to the newly generated JIRA-User.
