Hi,
We would like to migrate our current PROD confluence server to a new CentOS 7 server. The plan is to have the current PROD and what will become PROD running simultaneously for a short period of time to allow some testing before cutting over to the new server. A second base URL will be created - dev.confluence. Once the new server becomes PROD, the current PROD will be decommissioned or possibly become a DEV environment. The PROD license will be migrated to the new server. Well that is the plan.
The new CentOS host is ready and an export/import of the local postgresql database is complete. The database import will be performed again during the live cutover. The confluence home directory and server.xml is still to be copied post confluence setup.
We are at the stage where we would like to install confluence 6.15.2 on the new host however, the license is getting used on the current PROD server. I have tried using the Developer license but getting an error message - This is not a valid key.
During the setup we have two option - evaluation or production, I have selected production which is why the Developer license is most likely not working. I have tried to go back on the wizard but wont return to the page where you select which license.
I know we can get a evaluation license but do not want a trail database to be configured as it does by default via the wizard.
Can someone please advise if there is a way to achieve the above without purchasing additional licenses?
Can we configure confluence to point to our postgresql database (local - on same host as confluence server) using an evaluation license?
Any other options - upgrade on the current PROD is not an option.
License type PROD - Confluence server commercial license.
Thanks
Adrian
Thanks Davin, your suggestion provided what I was looking for and allowed me to progress with the installation.
You should be able to complete the installation with your prod license and then change it to the dev license after the install is done. I've done it multiple times.
