I have been creating several articles in confluence. The first few I created I was able to use the insert tool to use markup formatting. A few days later I went to add more articles but now when I click insert markup or use the mac hot keys for insert mark up nothing happens. It does not open the window to put it markup text. It does nothing. What am I missing?
Hello there!
Jeff, I believe you are talking about this macro right here, correct?
Confluence Wiki Markup - Server 6.15.x
Confluence Wiki Markup - Cloud
One thing that is not quite clear is if you are on Cloud or Server. Could you specify this?
Further, we still need a little more information on this:
- Is this macro working in other types of pages?
- When was the last time that you used this macro?
- Is this happening in any browser?
- Was there any kind of change to your instance?
Before anything, we can check if clearing browser cache does something to this situation. Also, if using another browser yields different results.
After that, we can try to clear plugin cache:
- Schedule a downtime for Confluence
- Shutdown Confluence
- Go to <confluence-home> folder
- Remove the following folders:
- <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins
- <confluence-home>/plugins-cache
- <confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache
- <confluence-home>/plugins-temp
- <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins_language
- Start Confluence
- Check if the issue is still present with the original page type
- Try creating a page without template
Notes:
Looking forward to your reply Jeff!
I have this problem on the Cloud Confluence.

In my case I was using it Friday and does not work Monday morning. Here's the error I'm seeing when I click on "Insert Markup" or use Ctrl-Shift-D:
