HI
I signed up today to test Confluence, I've only heard good things about it on Google.
I have a question about Confluence.
Is it possible to have Confluence with a free subscription?
I would like to set up Confluence as a wiki and make the contributions publicly available, how does this work?
Kind regards
Yves
Hi @Testuser
Confluence has a free plan for up to 10 users (https://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/pricing)
You can then take advantage of the pubic access feature and have it open for the public https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/set-up-public-access/
Thanks for the info
I am in the settings -> global permissions -> anonymous access, unfortunately I cannot make any changes there. Is this not possible during the test phase? But in the free version it works?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Where can I set that the anonymous user has read rights to areas and pages?
Can I set this globally somewhere? I hope that I do not have to set this every time.

@Testuser is the following edit button visible to you?
You can read the documentation to obtain all this knowledge you are asking :)
First you open your instance to anonymous access, and then for every space you need anonymous access, you grant them the rights you want.

Do you have to create an area, or can you start right away with pages?
Can I hide links on the "Overview, Blog, Calendar" page?

you can hide them from the settings:

Thank you, I was able to set it that way.
Last question for now I think
Then I can set it up the way I want.
Do I have to create a section, or can I start with pages right away?
I would like that when someone enters https://test2022test.atlassian.net/ they go directly to the page and Lins sees the page structure and doesn't have to select a section first.

@Testuser from Fruther configuration you can set the homepage, which will be a space, but not a particular page.

Last question, can I change the address from "https://test2022test.atlassian.net/wiki" to "https://projekt2023.atlassian.net/wiki/".

nope, you have to create a new instance with the name projekt2023

When I go to Administration at the top left, 2 admin areas appear for me to select.
How can I remove the bottom entry?
The top one is correct.

I was able to customise the AnonymUser in the test version "Standard".
But I went back to Free because this is currently enough for me.
I am the sole administrator for the site. However, I would like everyone to be able to view the contributions, even without a Confluence login. For this I want to adapt the AnonymUser. But this is not possible.
Support has referred me to the community.

Why is not possible to activate the anonymous user?

When I go to the link https://ms4y.atlassian.net with the other browser, a login window appears. So the AnonymUser is not enabled for reading.
I don't have the point mentioned in the post from 30.10.2022 in the free account of Confluence.
If you want, I can change my password to a temporary one or I can invite the person or my TestUser, which I have created in Confluence in my area.

Did you enable anonymous access from the global permissions? https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/set-up-public-access/
After doing that, you have to go to the specific space and grant permissions also to the anonymous users. https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/make-a-space-public/

Thanks for the links
But I can't set it up like it says on the link.
I can create a login so that you can see for yourself that it doesn't work.

I would be really happy if this could work with the anonymous user who has read rights to all pages/areas. Otherwise, unfortunately, Confluence is useless for me.
If someone would like to take a closer look at the issue, I would be happy to give them access to it.

It's a pity that there is no more reply.
I didn't manage to give the anonymous user the rights to enable all pages in read mode.
Unfortunately, COnfluence is of no use to me.
