Hi!
How can I reset my Confluence Admin Password...?
I have a local installation of Jira and Confluence at my home computer, for testing and piloting purposes. I have had only one physical user with admin rights (me), and I use LastPass to store my passwords and to semi-automatically log in to both.
Today I upgraded both Jira and Confluence. I had to install a fresh version of Jira, because of XML-errors when trying to upgrade. This led me to change my Jira password on the new installation - without taking note of the old... And I can log into Jira successfully, using the new password (via LastPass).
The problem is that the OLD password for Jira/Confluence obviuosly has been stored somewhere. I first tried an upgrade of Confluence, and secondly a fresh install (uninstall + install). Both times I was led directly to a standard log in window, and not a window to define a new admin user w/password.
So the question is how I reset my local Confluence Admin password - OR how to "clean" the computer totally from previous installations, so that I am asked for a new Admin user w/password after a fresh install...
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Thanks, but no luck. I am an IT user, not a database specialist :-)
Even though I learnt a lot from my 2 hours trying, and even managed to connect to the database, I was not able to retract the necessary info...
So I went the "hard" way, and uninstalled everything, and was able to get a clean new version up and running. Lost my "test-database", but no crisis...
But thanks, anyway :-)
Try the documentation for recovering the admin password.
