Hello.
I have a self-hosted instance of Confluence running on my system, that has been running without issue for many months now.
Since this morning however, I have been unable to access the server via the http://localhost:8090 URL. Nor can any other systems attempting to connect to my server do so.
I get a ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE on Google Chrome, and the page won't load on Edge either. What may be the issue all of sudden?
Thanks.
@Sean Braganza- based on your screenshot it looks like the Database is not reachable.
Try to ask an System Administrator to verify the connectivity between the machines and if the SQL service is running.
You can also verify the connectivity by pinging the database machine from your Command Prompt (if your using Windows).
Thanks,, the DBL URL to ping is located in the Confluence.cfg.xml file yes? I can't seem to find any URL listed there.

Are you sure your local confluence instance is installed as a service? Otherwise it won't automatically start when your system reboots.
I've known of this kind of mistake quite often. Basically... many people install the product and everything works fine, then all of a sudden they need to restart the computer for whatever reason and they don't remember they never installed it as a server.

I am not sure, although I'm making sure to 'Start Confluence Server' via the app in the Start Menu before trying the URL.
In any case, attempts to connect now are showing this screen. Seems like a database issue?

It seems your confluence server is indeeed running but probably your database server is not. Check that.

I don't know what kind of database you use nor your level of expertise playing around this topics so I think your best option at this point would be following a propprer step by step tutorial on the matter (since I could explain something from the top of my head and forget to tell you about a key step). Hopefully an already proven publication won't skip any steps ;)

Take a look to "Is your database set up and ready to use?" if you already are at that point and if anything doesn't work just start from the begginin.
Good luck. I'm sure you'll have your local instance running in no time.

My database already exists on my PC and contains tons of content I've created since 2018,
For some reason it's stopped working and the steps you've linked me to require me to re-install a database, which would overwrite the existing one would it not? My expertise is minimum, but I'm trying to figure out what's preventing me from connecting to my localhost.

What did you tried so far, beside accessing the link as usual?

I've tried running Confluence on Edge and restarting my PC/Confluence several times; I've written in a ticket to Confluence support and I'm trying to find my DB URL to ping it, so as to determine if it's running or not.
