Limitations with Jira Work Items Macro

Steve Binney
March 5, 2026

I am using Confluence and Jira for product requirements and have run into limitations with the Jira Work items macro (the Legcy macro is soon to be obsolete)

  1. The number of rows is fixed.  I would like to control the number of rows so I can avoid scroll bars in my confluence document.
  2. The layout is limited to columns which limits the amount of information that can be displayed on a row.  I need to display the Key, Summary and Description Fields and would prefer the Key , Summary on one line and the Description Under the Key and summary.  Effectively each issue row has two lines of content.

Is there a third party macro that allow for that type of customization?

Thanks

Hello @Steve Binney

Yep that’s a current limitation of the Jira Work Items macro.

You can reorder fields, but you can’t control row height/count or change it to a 2-line layout like Key + Summary with Description underneath.

I’m also not aware of a Marketplace macro that supports that exact kind of custom issue rendering in Confluence Cloud. Most are more focused on reporting than layout.
