License needed for import-export-utility for Confluence

Michael Wayne Buhl May 9, 2025

I downloaded and installed the import-export_utility PlugIn for Confluence.  It says Free Trial and Unlicensed.  However, when I attempt to export a Confluence Page it says - PlugIn License is UNRESOLVED or NOT DEFINED.  I'm used to downloading and getting temp. licenses for PlugIns.  I do not see on this utilities webpage the normal get license link.  How to I get a license to run this PlugIn?

@Michael Wayne Buhl Welcome to the community.

The link you provided to the app in the Marketplace shows that this app is for the Server version of Confluence, which is no longer supported. Your tags indicate that you are on the Free version of Confluence.

Are you trying to migrate from a Server instance to a Cloud instance?

If you are trying to export a page in your Free Confluence instance, you can export to Word or PDF using native features, as described here: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/export-content-to-word-pdf-html-and-xml/

Hi Barbara,

What can we do to support our 1000s of users in our internal company network?  Can we no longer get any support for the Atlassian products or the Atlassian Marketplace 3rd party products?  The corporate price that we pay is for those 1000s of user which is not a Free version of Confluence.

The Confluence Version 8.9.2 only allows for word/pdf which is not allowing users to port their Confluence Pages totally or cleanly.  That is why we found the import-export-utility at Atlassian Market Place that said it could zip a copy of a Confluence Space and import it totally and cleanly.  We downloaded and installed the PlugIn because their page says, "works with Confluence Server 5.0 - 6.15.10".

Isn't this PlugIn designed for the Data Center/Data Server Confluence?

If the utility is for the Data Center/Data Server Confluence we should be able to use it.

But, unlike other PlugIns when we see and click on the new link "Export Page/s to File" that it added to the ... list of commands on every Confluence Page in our system - it says "PlugIn License is UNRESOLVED or NOT DEFINED".

Do we need a separate License to run this PlugIn from Atlassian? Or, do we find what company created this PlugIn and get a license from them? Or, do we have to go to our Purchase manager in-house to add this PlugIn for next years Atlassian products that we purchase - BitLocker, Confluence, Jira?

Or, Are you saying we have to migrate to a Cloud instance?  If so, how would we be able to migrate or operate in an internal network - not being allowed to access the internet?

@Michael Wayne Buhl Are you using Confluence Server or Confluence Data Center? Data Center is still supported by Atlassian, but it looks like this app was only for Server. You might want to contact the app developer to ask them for assistance.
