Hello,
We are evaluating Jira Service Desk and Confluence and wanted to know if DB (MySql or Postgress ) is included as part of Jira application license or do we need to purchase Database license separately?
We are planning to use MySql, in that case what is the recommendation on below:
- What version of MySql should be used?
- We are planning to use 250 Agents/Users, what is the recommended MySql specification (number of servers, sockets etc.)
Thank you.
Hi Akash
There is no database license included in a Jira license. As far as I know you don't need to purchase a license for MySQL or Postgres?
Supported versions can be found here. For MySQL: 5.5, 5.6, 5.7
Check the Tuning Database Connections page for the connection configuration.
I'm no database expert so I can't answer your last question.
Thanks Charlie for quick response.
My understanding is also same, incase we are using Jira application then the backend system either MySql/Postgres usage should be allowed and we dont need to purchase license separately making sure we are not using that instance of DB for other purpose or with other application.
Could someone from Jira team please confirm.
Thank you.
