Jira Link Visibility in Confluence After Recent Update

Hello,

After the recent update, I’ve noticed that the Jira link that used to appear at the top of Confluence pages is no longer visible by default. I now have to scroll to the bottom-right of the page and click “Show details” to access the link.

This change has made the process more time-consuming, especially since I manage over 550 pages linked to Jira issues. Manually expanding the details on every page isn’t practical and significantly slows down my workflow.

Is there any way to restore the previous behavior or enable an option to have the Jira link displayed more prominently again (e.g., at the top of the page like before)?

Your support on this would be greatly appreciated!

We have the same question. Having this automatic linking is extremely useful for quality and traceability, and adding it to all of our existing pages is not practical. I would like to ask if this can be reinstated?

Hi @Noran H. Qabeel

You can use the Jira Issue/Filter macro to manually add Jira links to the top of your Confluence pages. This macro allows you to display Jira issues directly on Confluence pages.

I'm reluctant to start doing this to hundreds of pages, in the hope that they will fix what they did and put the JIRA view back at the top.

Do we know the rationale from moving it? My guess is potentially performance issues with always loading JIRA references on every page load?

It seems that even the "Show details" page no longer even lists these "Incoming links".  I also don't think this suggestion is accurate based on the question.  As far as I can tell, the Jira Issue/Filter macro does not have a realistic means of listing Jira tickets which reference this Confluence page.  This makes backwards/forwards traceability between Jira and Confluence no longer feasible which is a huge loss for us.  And we too have literally hundreds of Confluence pages linked to Jira tickets.

Was wondering where this had gone too.
Found it in the Details sidebar, under Connections, so it seems it is at least still there, if less visible/practical than before.

Awesome! Thanks for posting that @Kate ! Nothing like hiding something away that was so useful being displayed by default, so you didn't have to click around to see if there were other tickets related/tied to the article. Of course, now if you could only see more than 10 links without having to click to another Jira page to see the rest. 🤦

No sooner than I have posted this and the "Jira work items" has disappeared from the panel! The last item under "Connections" is now attachments.
Very strange and frustrating.
Has this happened to anyone else?
@dougknudsen can you still see them on your side?

Aarrgghhh!!! It's gone now for me as well @Kate . Why Atlassian WHY!!!

Also, either I'm going nuts or enshitification of Jira is really taking hold. What the heck is happening to the Activity area? You now have to click a drop-down to view History,,Emails etc.??? I really wish they would stop trying to "improve" useability and just end up making things harder to work with for people who have been using Jira for years. I'm assuming they at least added a way to designate which options to show by default so you can just hide the things you don't care about. Now to try to find that....

Glad to know it's not only on my side but yes v poor user experience to have it just disappear without trace.
I still have the regular Activity options - for now!!
