Let's say I have some files within Confluence. I'm looking for an option on delivery those files to others in the company who are a bit resistant to using Confluence. Instead of downloading the files and sending out an email with that as an attachment or using the share feature which takes the recipient into Confluence to download the file, is there a way to send a link to that file, that upon clicking would just download the file?
Any thoughts you all would have would be most welcome. I trying to ease some people into using Confluence.
Thanks!
Hi Sandra,
I have to confess that I'm sitting at home watching a baseball game and enjoying an adult beverage as I type this, so I am away from my Confluence instance and can't test this out for you...
The files attached to a page in Confluence are displayed as a hyperlink. You should be able to right-click on the link to the file and select "copy link," then paste that link as a URL in an email. The recipient opens the email, clicks on the link, and when the browser opens it up the file is automagically downloaded to the recipient's PC.
Give that a shot, if it works then great! Mark this as "answered." If not I'll play with it on Monday and see if there is another way.

Thanks, Scott!
I hope you enjoyed the game (and your adult beverage)!
That worked great!
Thanks for your help!
Sandra
