Is there any way of importing a word document to confluence without the comments in it?

We have some documents that have user comments on the side such as :

On using the "import word document" these comments become a part of the main body of content.

Is there any way we can import the document without the comments?

I think that removing / disabling comments would help here BEFORE we import that file into Confluence.

I think this is a related bug ..

I suggest to also watch and vote this ticket, so that it would be more visible.
