We use Confluence to author our product documentation and would like to be able to mark specific pages as "New" or "New in Version 9" - using e.g. a label - and have that reflected in the "Children Display" macro.
Is there a free or paid component we can add to Confluence - we host our own instance - that does this? My Google-fu is weak on this one.
I don't imagine it is possible to construct a macro to do this, but if it is please share. I've taken a look at the "Content by Label" and "Content Report Table" macros as an alternative and they don't work too well for this case.
Hello there Keith!
I am not aware of third-party addon that does this. However, I think we can setup the Content by Label macro to work almost as specification. Here, take a look:
- Create a new page
- Add the Content by label macro
- Setup a label for new content (such as newly-created)
- Edit the settings for that macro
- Under the Label text field, insert the label you created
- Add a new Filter for Creation
- Select the time window (Last week, for example)
- Go to the Options section
- Select creation
- Select Reverse Sort (this should bring the newer ones to the top
- Type a List title (if you want to, not mandatory)
- Define the maximum number of pages you want to display
This is my result Keith:

Content by label macro - Confluence Server
Would the final result above work for your objective? Let me know Keith.
Looking forward to your reply.
