Is it possible to set permissions at a content (Panel?) level? Or just page level?

Simon Theakston May 7, 2018

Hi there,

I'm just wondering how granular permissions can be.

What I'd like to be able to do is to have a piece of content within a page (perhaps a panel?) that is only accessible to admin level.

So, for example, we have a page gives an overview of a particular partner that we're working with. But only a special section of the page containing the username/password to access that partner's portal is visible to admins.

Is that possible at all?

Hi Simon,

Besides the site level, permissions can be set on a page or space level.

The workaround for this would be to use the Excerpt Include Macro. Then you could restrict the source of the excerpt to just the users who need to see it. Then, if someone views the page that is showing the excerpt, they'll be able to see everything except the excerpt.

For Server users, there's an add-on that can help with this, but I have checked and it isn't made available for Cloud at this time.

Regards,

Shannon

Hi @Shannon S,

love your solution with the excerpt include macro - thanks for that!
