I am currently searching for the profile of an old confluence user, whose files and data I need to access, but it seems that the profile was 'lost/disappeared' when he left the department. So three years worth of work which was logged on confluence can no longer be accessed.
Can old data/files/profiles be restored once the profile/name is now recognised as an 'Unknown user'?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all!
If you have backups you might be able to restore the backup to another Confluence install (possibly a development server or even a 30 day trial would work) and then export the data.
I am sorry, but no. If you delete someone, there's no records to hang on to, other than they amended stuff (and that is showing that an unkown user did it, because you no longer have any information for them)

Thanks for your answer Nic. That is a shame.
