Is it possible to add an event to a calendar from a page that embeds the calendar

Suppose I have some calendar at 

https://confluence-internal/display/out-little-space/calendar/3d57cc40-whatever?calendarName=some-cal

And I embed this calendar into a wiki page,  I then try to add an event to the calendar by clicking an empty square and accepting the default event type.  When I click "ok" I get redirected to a blank page and no event is created. 

Going directly to the calendar page works.

I went to take a screen shot, but this time it mysteriously worked.

Very suspicious :)
