Hi folks,
can I somehow insert a link into a template that after page creation is referencing to the page just created?
Something like: [link | $thisPage]
Thanks in advance!
Use Case: I created a template for a document me and my team are creating regularly. This document contains message stubs that will be copy/pasted elsewhere. Now I want to have a link in those message stubs referencing the created document. So that people reading the posted message easily can find their way to the document.
As we do this a lot it is quite cumbersome to replace the link manually and it would be very convenient if the message stub already contains the correct link.
Hi Jens,
This is not possible in Confluence Cloud. There is an existing feature request for Global Variables, and perhaps "currentPage" can be a variable that is included if we implement this.
I would recommend commenting on the feature with your exact requirements, and placing a vote in order to show the popularity of such a feature.
For any Server customers that come across this question, it might be possible creating a User Macro to use on the template, and you can try this suggestion to obtain the URL of the current page:
I'm sorry I couldn't provide you a better option in Cloud, but I would recommend that you take a look at Atlassian Marketplace and see if there's an add-on that helps accomplish what you require.
Regards,
Shannon
