Scenario:

We have Space A that refers to content from a different Space B via the Include Page macro. We want to export Space A to a new instance that does not include Space B.

Question:

Upon export of Space A, is a copy of the page referred to by the Include Page macro captured, or does the macro break since the target page is not exported as well?

I assume you are referring to an XML export. In that case it indeed would break as it is export the storage format, which is referencing another space.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. I just tested it out, and the macro broke. Any ideas on a workaround?

It would be preferred if the export is XML so we have full functionality, but I did notice PDF exports include the content from the Include Page macro target.

Yes, PDF and HTML will flatten it, but then it is not easily imported into another Confluence instance.
