In the new editing experience, is there a way to show a preview of file attachments?

In the old editing experience, users were able to upload a file, an excel sheet for example, and have a visual preview of the sheet appear on the page. 

Is there way to replicate this with the new editing? Or do users need to click the file to view the preview?

As you have noticed, the attachments behavior is now different in our Cloud solution. What we can do to see a preview of the files is by using the corresponding macro.

Here is a list of macros that might help you with this objective:

• [Confluence Cloud] Office PowerPoint Macro
• [Confluence Cloud] Office Word Macro
• [Confluence Cloud] PDF Macro

With the macros above, your users will be able to preview those file types. Let us know if this aligns with your objective!
