My team creates a dashboard every week that goes on a new page to denote the week for that dashboard. I want to include an excerpt from the latest one on the team space. Is there a way to dynamically do this so that I don't have to go in every week and edit the space?
My strategy is hard to explain but here goes.
What if you had the current dashboard retain the same name and just archived the older ones by making copies of them? Similar to the way the latest Atlassian Confluence documentation is always the one in the doc space whereas legacy docs are on spaces according to product version.
From a step buy step perspective it would mean
naming the current page something static like "current dashboard
Copying the old dashboard page as a child page to a placeholder page where you keep all the old pages
Edit the "current" page as the new page. It's excerpts should appear in the excerpt-exclude macro on the other page on the team space.
I tries it out and it worked as far as I understand the use case:
Thank you for your reply - and you do understand the use case. Your solution will work, but it moves the manual intervention from changing the space to making a copy of the current space to the archive. I have some user compliance issues that probably won't make that the best solution.
What I'm looking for is some fancy macro coding that will always show the excerpt from the most recently created page with a particular tag on it.
