Importing current wildcard cert for Confluence

When going over the article, "Running Confluence Over SSL or HTTPS", and wanting to use our current wildcard cert, do I still need to generate a CSR? Or do I just start at Opt.2, Step 5?

Also, have read some non-fun stories about wildcards and Tomcat ... tales form the dark ages or valid issues for today?

I also have this question.  Or at least how to make this JKS work with an already existing wildcard certificate.

Certificates and Tomcat are a pain.
