I have tried both the XML and CSV file and continue to receive a [A space with key XXX already exists.] Error.  I have changed me Key Source Space prior to exporting and continue to receive the same error.  Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to Atlassian Community @Tracy Flanagan

Please refer to steps from here https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/resolve-duplicate-spaces-when-copying-confluence-data/

And no, renaming are not always enough. You often changing only "Frontend" but not backend.

Best,

Arek 🤠

Yeah, this is a struggle @Tracy Flanagan 😅...

We do copies (read "importing") monthly and it can become awfully annoying to do this due to old, unused keys from some spaces. We do have some kind of structure we follow, but that workaround in the link Arek mentioned is your best bet.

Anyway, there are a couple of feature requests (which I hope will be developed relatively soon) related to removing old space key without the need to actually purge the space:

Cheers,
Tobi
