We are used to receiving emails whenever documents are updated on our previous system (basecamp).
I would like to set, by default, all the users of confluence to 'watch' the entire space by default, that way they always get updated for all the wiki pages.
What we did for such and usecase was (eventhough flooding everyone's mailbox with Confluence updates may result in people ignoring the emails) was to create a mailing list of all users, created a new user in Crowd with the email id of the mailing list, logged in with that user, and started watching the space.
You can remove that account from the Global permissions to login (so as to save the license). It should still continue to work.
