I have lost the confluence space, can not find any data after reactivating...please help

Good day! Have you already reactivated the site or yet to reactivate? Can you share your cloud site URL?

Check your inbox, you should have received an email (or several) with deactivation warning.

Example: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Confluence-questions/Deleted-Confluence-Cloud-Free-site-Data-recovery-request-Spotme/qaq-p/3191665

Deactivation seems to be happening a lot with anecdotal evidence suggesting that it may happen earlier than advised


I requested Atlassian Support to look into this.

Hi @samarth gohel welcome to the Atlassian community.

Please be informed, this often happens after a period of inactivity or a subscription lapse.

  • If you are on a Free Plan, Atlassian deactivates the site after few days of inactivity. Once deactivated, Atlassian typically holds the data for only 14–60 days (this varies by plan) before permanently deleting it.
  • Sometimes the spaces exist, but your user permissions were not restored correctly during the reactivation process, making the spaces invisible to you.
  • If you have multiple Atlassian sites, you may have reactivated a different, empty site under the same account.

Please check:

  • For Space Permissions (The "Hidden" Space).
  • Verify subscription status (Organization and click Billing).
  • If you are on a Free plan, you normally don't have access to technical support, but for site deactivation and data loss, Atlassian makes exceptions. Contact Atlassian pricing, billing and licensing support .

Slight correction, Free plan doesn't support Permissions.
