I cannot login to confluence using internet explorer 10 & 11

When I try to login to confluence, the login page reloads with empty fields.

I can login with chrome &  firefox but not IE, and I need IE to work on excel sheets through confluence.

Im having this same issue with confluence version 5.9.6.
