I'm using Confluence Cloud. I am creating my own Space Template and want to add the Table of Contents Macro to the Template. When I select the Table of Contents from the Macro list nothing happens. The view just goes back to the page edit screen and nothing is entered on the page. It does not pull up a wizard or macro edit screen.
Just nothing.
The documentation seems to indicate that this macro can be added to a template, so what is the problem?
There is a suggested workaround.

It's not pretty, but it works.
You cannot edit it once it has been pasted in to the template so you need to get it just right before pasting it in.
It ain't great, but it does work.
Update: I can copy and paste a Table of Contents macro into a section of the page, but I still can't just insert one. I also can't insert a Page Properties macro into the page, and I'm pretty sure that worked the other day.

I can not add any macros to a template - I select the one I want to add and nothing happens.

Atlassian has entered this as a bug. CONFCLOUD-65196.

I am having the same problem. I have been happily creating and editing global page templates and inserting macros for over a year now.
Suddenly - maybe about a week ago - I try and insert a macro in a template and nothing happens.
Please sort this out Atlassian.

Same - any macros I'm trying to use in a custom template do not get inserted. I've tried a bunch and it is definitely unique to Templates. Other pages work fine. The only ugly workaround is to make a blank space and insert them there, then copy paste.
