I am trying to create a chart depicting the number of tickects per status/ per prioty, so for critical priority it should say 25 open; 40 closed; 38 cancelled
Not an exact answer but if your confluence instance is connected to JIRA you can integrate any dashboard item from JIRA in Confluence. So you could see a two-dimensional filter result of priority vs resolution with totals to see the numbers you need above.
