Hello All.
Can you please tell if there is a way to switch off the possibility to set Space Category for personal spaces.
We want Space Category option to be controlled only by Confluence administrators and so that users cannot add space categories in the instance, but they can add them in their personal spaces, influencing categories of Site Spaces.
Thank you
Hi @Andrii Maliuta,
as of Confluence 6.10.1 this is not possible via the UI.
Of course, you can try customizing the Confluence core. At least you need to find the template for displaying the space admins details, thus project categories text field as well as the suggested space categories.
@P_D_ Foerster Thank you! Will have what to think of :)

you can switch off the possibility for a certain user group (or all user groups):
Personal Space -> This permission allows the user to create a personal space.
and this should end the problem. In Global Permissions you can have a look on all usergroup permissions for system. For more information have a look in documentation.
Hope this helps!

Hello Fabienne.
Thank you for the response.
But this will switch off the permission to create personal spaces - this is not what is needed. They should be able to create personal space, but not to set category for the space.
The problem is not to allow users to set space categories in space overview options.
They cannot do it for site spaces not being administrators, but as they are admins in personal space - they can set categories.
Thank you

sorry totally read this wrong - hope someone can help you with this. After hearing this it's a topic I also find it interesting.
I have no idea who to change settings there. Good luck for finding a solution.
Sorry that I couldn't help you.

@Fabienne Gerhard Thank you for your comment! :) i think I just repeated the eternal problem of issue description - to describe the issue as short as possible and as clear as possible and failed :)
