How to promote myself to admin?

We have a Confluence 5.6.5 server set up in our organization and the admin for it has left. I've been tasked with doing the admin work. Problem is that my Confluence account only has User level access.

I do have full access to login as root user to the server (Linux). How can I promote my Confluence account to have System Admin access using the UNIX command shell?
