How to import a backup without overwriting settings

David Gall

Hello all,

I'm in the process of upgrading our Confluence install to latest.  The new machine is configured, and now I'd like to import a backup from the existing site.  The catch is that I don't want it overwriting all of my new configuration settings, only the articles/attachments/comments.

How can I make this happen?

Hello,

If you want your new instance to remain as is, you can migrate spaces one by one (depending on how many spaces you have). Otherwise your only option is to save main configuration files, like server.xml and others, save all WebUI customisations , like customer HTML and Stylesheet and then re-apply them after restore is complete.

Regards,

Igor
