How to get permission to edit a page after it has been published?

A former colleague of mine created a page and now I have been tasked to edit some information. How can I gain access to edit it?

In order to edit a page you will need edit permissions to the space that the page is in. You Confluence admin can get that for you. If you already have edit access to the space and still cannot edit the page it could be that your page had an edit restriction applied to that. A space or Confluence admin can add you to the edit restriction list.
