How to fix confluence attachment links being opened in Google docs instead of local download ?

We upload documents to confluence. Users who are watching that page will get email notification about that. While clicking on the document link, it tries to open that document in "Google Docs". I'm using Chrome browser here. If I do the same with Firefox browser, it just works fine and the file gets downloaded.

How can I fix this for Chrome ?

• Can you confirm what the document type is that opens in Google Docs?
• Does this happen for all users?
• Do you happen to have the Google Docs extension enabled on Chrome? Does this only occur in Chrome?
• Is the attachment only being linked on the page, and not being displayed using any add-ons?
