How to create a parent folder (not a page) in confluence?

I am trying to create a parent folder for pages but only see the ability to create "pages". Is it possible to do?

Confluence pages can be set up in hierarchies, with parent  multiple children pages, much like folders and subfolder hierarchies#

A pure folder functionality does not exist out of the box

As Kurt advised there is no pure folder, once you create a page within a page, the top level page becomes the parent. You can keep creating pages within other pages to create a hierarchy. You can also move and reorder pages in the Space Tools to make sure you have the hierarchy you are looking for.

Then you can you can Insert a Page Tree macro in the top or parent page, which will give you a list of the pages in that page. You will need to change the Root Page to your parent page (Q2 in your example above), otherwise it defaults to your home page. You may also want to change the Start Depth, if you have more than 1 depth hierarchy and want to show it all in this menu.

Hi @JP _AC Bielefeld Leader_ when clicking on the folder page, I would just like the children pages to drop down and instead of a blank "q2" page showing.
