How to create a giant "how-to" page in Confluence?

Yang Chen April 27, 2018

In Confluence, how can I create a page listing how-to's or support cases that

1. On the left panel, it lists a list of how-to's or support cases under the page title; (thinking about Table of Contents in Microsoft Word)

2. All how-to's are in the same document or the same page so that someone can search in-page with keywords, no need to jump back and forth between different pages; (thinking about sections in a Word document)

3. Each how-to is a small section in the "giant" page

I know how to do it in wiki-like environment. But I am hopeless in Confluence.

Thanks in advance

YC

Hi YC,

One way to do it would be to create sections, use a heading for each article, and put the TOC macro on the left side of the page. To make the page easier to navigate, each How-to section could be wrapped in an expand macro.

I look forward to hearing whether that works for your case.

Thanks,

Ann

How do I add a solid line at the bottom of each section so that it functions as a partition line between sections?

I wasn't able to pull that off with the solid line, only a dotted line by putting a column macro within a section macro:Screen Shot 2018-04-30 at 1.16.39 PM.pngTo get a solid line, I tried the Panel Macro. The panel title could match the How-to title:

I hope one of these works for you,
