Hi! I’m facing an issue: my Confluence account has only 2 GB of storage, and I don’t want to upgrade the plan just for extra space.
Meanwhile, I have a SharePoint account with plenty of free space, and I noticed there’s an integration between the two.
Could anyone who has already set it up or is currently using it share their experience? Will this integration solve my problem—so that when I create a file it only appears in Confluence while actually being stored in SharePoint—or does the synchronization work differently? Thanks!
Hi @Sofiya Gubatska ,
I'm glad to hear that you're looking into optimizing storage between Confluence and SharePoint!
If you're still considering your options, I want to highlight the SharePoint Connector for Confluence app. This app enables you to embed documents from SharePoint Online directly into Confluence pages without using any of your Confluence storage.
Additionally, you can manage file access through SharePoint permissions, allowing you to browse, preview, edit, or open files directly within Confluence.
You can enjoy a free trial for up to 30 days by following the link I shared. If you require assistance, our contact information is also available there.

@Sofiya Gubatska To add to the response from @Marc - Devoteam, I just want to mention that the 2GB storage limit in the Free plan is for storing files attached to your Confluence pages, not for content in your Confluence pages.
So, if you write (or copy/paste from the SharePoint files) the text of your content in pages in Confluence, this will not affect your 2GB.

Hmm interesting note, can you please clarify: does my free plan have any storage limits at all? for documents what i create inside Confluence

Welcome to the community.
Synchronisation means information is kept in track on both sides, so no this won't solve your issue on storage usage and location.
You can store you file on SharePoint and in a Confluence page set a link to the document on Sharepoint.
This will require your SharePint location to be readable for anyone.

Hi @Sofiya Gubatska,
You can also use a marketplace app that would allow you integrating your Confluence instance with SharePoint. With our app SharePoint Connector for Confluence (Microsoft OneDrive) you'll be able to preview and edit files from SharePoint directly in Confluence without using Confluence storage space. If you want, you can learn more in this guided tour.
