How does Confluence calculate graphs

I have a table column 'Effort Estimate' that contains numeric values for each task for my team members. Or lets say it has the burn rate for a each assigned task. My question is, for a given set of values for a resource, ex. 4.5, 15, 2, 2, 4.5, 4.5, 8 confluence shows 23.5%. I want to know how did confluence get this 23.5%? What was the calculation or formula that confluence uses?
