How do you hide the Edit, Add and Tool menus for an individual user who has view only permissions?

Deleted user December 15, 2013

Hello All, I created an individual user in Confluence 4.1.5 and gave it View Only permissions. Much to my surprise, the Edit, Add and Tool Menus were visible when I logged in with that user ID and I was able to edit the page etc. Is there a way to hide those menus for this type of user? I have done it for anonymous users but was not able to find any information for this. Thank you for your time.

The buttons would disappear if you get the permissions right.

I suspect you've accidentally granted that user update rights - check the permissions carefully.
