Once Confluence goes to the new Cloud version which i have tried and reverted back as i cannot link documents from Objective as I currently send a reference to my desktop then find under recent files whereas the new version seems to use Control +K but when i copy the link it copies from my personal desktop and therefore does not work....please help
@Tomislav Tobijas Thank you for your response and it is more likely i have no idea what i am talking about.
Hopefully some of that makes sense. thank you for your help i am grateful
Cheers
Lara
Hmm @Lara Manderson
I've never used Objective, so I cannot say much about that.
I must admit I'm still not quite following what the issue is (would be perfect if you could create a video example or a GIF of some kind).
Currently when i edit the document and want to insert the link it enables me to Link to a file that is attached to this page or attach a new one and I can upload the file by clicking on the Browse button and then finding the link where i have previously send reference to desktop
Few questions here:
In the cloud, you cannot use a reference to a local file (stored on your machine). You can only upload a file to the cloud and then reference it there.
When it comes to sharing info here on forums, as this is a public platform, an alternative would be reaching out to Atlassian Support directly and discussing it further with them, as you can also grant them access to your instance so they can test things out.
Cheers,
Tobi

Hmm @Lara Manderson... I don't think I quite understand the process here 👀 (maybe it's just too early and I didn't have my coffee yet 😅)
A couple of questions:
I've never actually referenced something that's not on the cloud, so a local file.
I'm also guessing you've converted from using the legacy editor to the new one.
Cheers,
Tobi
