How do i change the background color on CODE BLOCK

When i change the color theme on the Code Block Macro to "midnight" or "blacl", it still comes thru as light gray on all code blocks.     What am i doing wrong .  (note - this is using Cloud version)

In Confluence Cloud New Editor, Code Block macro has been replaced with Code snippet.

Code snippet doesn't support customisation. It's been tracked as a feature request: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-66437

Having used the self-hosted version for a number of years, this cloud version's editor feels rearranged and dumbed down to a noticeable agree. It'll take some time to break old habits.

Rather telling that Gordon's link above currently goes nowhere; you have to highlight and paste it verbatim. Those comments are not reassuring; has the aroma of staff cuts or "strategic redirection".
