How do I show all text in a status macro bar button?

Sometimes I see the colored status macro bar (button) show all text entered, other times it is truncated. Is there a trick to get the text to fully show on the button?

Hello Barbara,

This is a great question. I did some digging to find out exactly how many characters will cause truncation and when you may see a status with all characters, here are the results:

A status macro with more than 27 characters will be truncated.

Within the edit window of the status macro, the text will not be truncated regardless of length. Once you save from the edit window, anything past 27 characters will be truncated.

Dashes, No spaces and underscores do not impact text truncation.

Care to know more about the macro, check out the documentation at Status Macro.

I hope this sheds some insight as to when the macro truncates and answers your question.
