How do I set a page id?

I recently inherited an existing set of help documents. Some of the old documents have page ids which is how the developers made the help context sensitive. But some of the newer ones don't have page ids so they can't be added to our existing system and I can't figure out how to create one and have it display on the help pages so the developers can readily access it.

There is no way to set a page id.  The page id needs to be decided by Confluence, in order for it to remain consistent and unique.
