How do I see who has access to a Confluence workspace?

How do I see who has access to a Confluence workspace? I wanted to propose creating a project folder in one of my team's workspaces, and it seem like it's impossible to see if everyone has access to that space without creating a page, sending them all a link, and see if they can open it. What am I missing here?

(Here's my guess: Atlassian makes it impossible for end users to see who their coworkers are in a workspace.)

Right. End users cannot see the full list of who has permissions in a Confluence space. That complete access list is hidden for privacy and security. You don't want to end up with permissions conflicts, feel like have super power/less power and misunderstandings.

You can only see space owner. For multiple spaces, if you can write custom script using script runner, use the endpoint in advance table macro and call the macro to your folder page. Put a text box to enter space key. When user enter the space key, they will get to know the space owners.

Upshot: Instead of being able to check whether a co-worker has access to a workspace before sending them a link, I have to:

• Send them a link, hope they can open it
• When they can't, they have to contact an admin
• Delay...delay...delay

OR

• Contact an admin: "Does X have access to Y workspace?"
• Wait...wait...wait
• etc

There's no privacy or security advantage here. It just wastes the time of non-admins.

This falls under the same category as Atlassian making it impossible for end users to chose their own date and time format. It makes ZERO sense for that to be controlled by admins, when date and time formats are a personal preference — not to mention that it make things difficult for world-wide teams. And it's just like making it impossible for users to turn off Rovo, regarless of whether they'll ever use it, and no matter how much it gets in the way.

Hi @Rob Bl 

You can use the User Access Menu which you can either reach through the Space Settings or by clicking on the three ellipses next to the Space name. You need to be the Space Owner, a Confluence Admin or have administrative rights in this space to access this setting.

Generally access is divided into group or individual roles. You can find further information here:

To see who is part of which group you need to have access to admin.atlassian.com and then check the group in the Site Directory.
