Months ago, I drafted several documents, writing documentation about parts of my personal project, to back up my ideas. Months later (today), I need to use those documents, but when I logged into Confluence, they all seem to have been deleted. It must be because I haven't made any payments or used the tool for several months, and perhaps they deleted those files.
My question is: if I pay for a subscription, is it possible for them to help me recover them?
I hope you can help me soon; I'm a little sad and I don't want to lose those documents.
Hello @Checalomexico
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
How long ago was the last time you accessed the documents?
Atlassian has a documented policy for deactivating inactive subscriptions after an extended period of inactivity. That period is 120 consecutive days. Before deactivation multiple emails are sent to the Organization Admins warning of the impending deactivation
Another email is sent when the deactivation occurs, warning that the data will be permanently deleted soon. The grace period can be as little as 15 days or as long as 60 days depending on your subscription plan
If it is possible to reactivate your subscription, you can follow the guidance in this document.
Make sure you follow the instructions for reactivating an inactive subscription, not start a trial subscription
If the grace period has expired then you data has already been permanently deleted and buying a subscription will not enable you to get it back.
If you want to get an authoritative answer about the state of your subscription and whether or not it can be recovered, complete the form on the Licensing Support page here:

Good luck!

Your Confluence documents from months ago are likely unrecoverable if your site was on the Free plan, as Atlassian deactivates such sites after 120 days of inactivity and permanently deletes data after an additional 60 days (total 180 days). Paying for a subscription now won't restore them, since the retention period has passed and Atlassian states deleted data cannot be recovered.
Log into your Atlassian account at id.atlassian.com and navigate to admin.atlassian.com to view your site's status. If it's deactivated but within the short retention window (15-60 days post-deactivation, depending on prior plan), reactivate immediately via the billing section. For Free plans, this window is typically 60 days after deactivation
Submit a support ticket through support.atlassian.com or the contact form at atlassian.com/company/contact, explaining your inactivity period, site URL, and document details. Past cases show support may assist with recent deactivations via internal approvals, but success drops sharply after 180 days. Provide exact dates of last activity to check any edge cases
Thanks
