How do I re-arrange the links on a Confluence Children Display macro?

I am not able to change the order of the child pages on the Edit 'Children Display Macro.

All I can do is sort the children by title, date of creation, or date of modification.

I can also reverse the sort.

The tree on the left-hand side of the page is in the correct order, but the appearance of the page shows the links in a different order.

you say the sidebar is displaying the children in the correct order. In the Children macro remove the sort and the display order of the children will auto default to the hierarchy.
