How do I link my account with a cloud account?

I just setup a confluence service for our team to try out.  I connected google apps, but am not able to sign in via google apps as it gives me this error:

Your Google Apps account email is already in use by another Atlassian Cloud account. Please contact your administrators or log in with your Atlassian Cloud username and password.

How do I fix this?

Hi Adam,

We link Google users with "Atlassian users" by email address. It sounds like there is already a user on your site with the email address you're trying to log in with, and the integration isn't figuring out that that is the one you want.

We are close to shipping improvements on this, but it currently needs your "username" to be the same as the local part of your email address. You can update the username at yourinstance.atlassian.net/admin/users.

If you're still having issues, please raise a ticket at support.atlassian.com.
